My DJ just called and canceled! ….. What do I do now??!!
During the past week I’ve have 2 people tell me that their DJ just canceled on them. I’ve been a DJ for 10+ years in Florida and have had my share of clients come to me in their hour of despair. Since I’ve never been in their shoes I don’t know all the frustration they are going through however, the first question that pops in my head is, “You had a signed contract with them right”? I never want to add insult in injury so I NEVER actually say it.
Your wedding day is a happy occasion and it’s all about you, having fun, enjoying the company of all your friends that came to support you, and your day turning out just as you envision it. Don’t let some hack Disc Jockey upset you! Some people start planning their wedding a year in advance. Some however only have a few months to find all the wedding vendors. Research your vendors and be patient. There are National Disc Jockey Organizations like the “American Disc Jockey Association” that have a list of DJs in your area that are reputable. In the Ocala, Gainesville, and Jacksonville or Central Florida area there are quite a few DJ companies to choose from. Choosing the right DJ may take time, don’t meet with just one DJ. Find “THE ONE” that you feel comfortable with and know that he/she will be there during the whole wedding planning process and show up the day of your wedding. Customer service and support should always be #1. If you send an email or call a vendor and they don’t call you back, why would you call them or send them another email? One recent client told me, “that if she is having problems contacting the vendor now, what will it be like as they get closer to her date”? Check their references and talk to other wedding professionals that have worked with them.
